FR#157 Wintersound: Eddie Prevost & John Butcher

  • Fruitworks Canterbury, England United Kingdom (map)

Two internationally renowned pioneers of free-improvisation play a solo set each in Wintersound 2018: a three-day festival of experimental music presented by Free Range in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University.

This evening begins at 7.00pm in the reverberant Sidney Cooper Gallery (Canterbury High St) with a solo performance by John Butcher. At 7.45pm Matthew Watkins will lead the audience on a short guided walk loosely based on his psycho-geographical exploration of Canterbury You Are Here: The Biography of a Moment. This will end up at Garage Coffee @ Fruitworks (1-2 Jewry Lane) where, at 8.30pm, percussionist Eddie Prevost will play a solo set. After a short break, both musicians will come together for a final duo improvisation.

Entry free as always!
